A healthy body can be maintained by following three practices: get enough exercise, drink a lot of water, and eat foods that are healthy and nutritious. These are general guidelines, of course, but what we need are more details. There are some foods that are going to be far more helpful to keeping your immune system healthy than others. They term coined for these foods is superfoods. They are very beneficial in keeping your immune system as strong as it can be. Our focus in this report is to answer the questions: what are these foods? and which ones will strengthen our immune system?

Pork chops may not be the first food that comes to mind when someone is discussing superfoods, but it can be very beneficial to maintaining a healthy immune system. Now, don't scoff. This is true. However, most non-meat eaters won't find this very useful. Just 6-ounces of pork chops per day can reverse rapid weight loss when it isn't desirable. When someone is ill, they tend to lose weight. If the sick person eats pork chops, this weight loss can be avoided. Some folks might groan at the thought of eating pork chops every day. One of the antioxidants that battles cancer cells is selenium. Pork chops contain a lot of selenium. One good thing about pork chops is that there is no limit to the different ways you can cook and serve them. Boredom won't set in, that's for sure.

T-cells are a white blood cells called lymphocytes and are part of the immune system. If you have an adequate zinc intake, your T-cells are activated and make your immune system stronger. You can easily consume 17 milligrams of zinc with just 100 grams of wheat germ. This is more than enough to keep your body healthy. You can put wheat germ into pretty much everything you cook or bake. The simplest way to get wheat germ in your body is to sprinkle it over whatever you are eating. The taste of wheat germ is subtle and won't take away from the dishes you combine it with.

Vegetable juice is a great source of vitamins, minerals, immune boosting agents and fluids. Do you remember watching the V-8 Juice commercials where they tell us that adding veggie juice to our diet is good for our body? Those commercials aren't wrong. There are other options, however, than V-8 Juice. You can blend up your own vegetable juice at home. Folks who blend their own juices say they like the freedom to change their recipes and add whatever veggies strike their fancy each day. Adding veggie juices to your daily routine helps ensure that you also get the vitamins, fluids, and minerals that your body needs to be in optimum health.

A delicious way to boost your immune system is to eat baked sweet potatoes - a great superfood. Sweet potatoes are full of beta-carotene which helps keep your immune system healthy and strong Carrots are another food that contain a lot of beta-carotene, but you will find more versatility with the sweet potato. Mashed, baked, or included in other foods, you won't find a superfood as flavorful as the sweet potato. Cut them into 1/4 strips and make french fries. They're delightful!
