It was even noted that even the best organized groups have problems in raising enough funding to survive. While n the preparation phase, you have to create a realistic plan that is sustainable based on correct information about the program, targeted donors, environmental issues and other factors.
Another myth concerns you as the one in charge of the operation. The 5013C nonprofits designated you as the owner and operator of the organization in behalf of the neighborhood. You are working with the Board of Directors and each one is expected by the IRS are becoming independent and only focused their interest on the nonprofit group and the neighborhood. Since you organized the nonprofit, you have been voted as the head of the board and have lots to say about the projects or you maybe be appointed as the Executive Director which can be the highest position too as the one getting the highest salary. The Executive Director has the responsibility of carrying out the orders of the board; although he or she may have the chance to give his or her opinions but final decisions would lie with the Board of Directors.
One positive myth is that as the head, you will be full of praises and gratitude. However, working inside the 5013C nonprofit sector is often a thankless job. In some programs, even clients can be unappreciative and some donors are not interested during the goings on. Even if you are a great nonprofit leader, you might feel brownout. To maintain your sanity, you have to seek satisfaction with your doing. Just be contented with the accolades you receive from some grateful sector but do not expect everyone to praise you.

This is completely incorrect as 501c3 nonprofit requires justification to pay wages before they get support from the neighborhood. The developed program, also as, all positions that have wages need to be justified towards the Board before the pay checks are given.
